Listed as a historical monument since 1841, this thousand-year-old site is nestled in the heart of the valley. Today, only the choir and the transept of the old Romanesque abbey church remain, vestiges that bear witness to its prestige. From Wissembourg to Feldbach, the Romanesque route of Alsace stretches across the whole of the region and covers more than 120 Romanesque sites, among them the oldest churches and abbeys. A little-known component of Alsace's architectural heritage to discover, through the countryside, vineyards and mountains. Our beautiful commune of Murbach is a stopover site as it is home to the former abbey church of Saint-Léger: the Abbey of Murbach.
